YSO Film is an independent production company based in Berlin. We produce high-quality documentaries for a national and international audience.

With great enthusiasm and dedication, they produce works from a wide variety of areas: social reportages, portraits, background reports on politics and culture. 

A network of authors and technical service providers that has developed over many years makes it possible to work securely all over the world.

The abbreviation YSO stands for Young Stellar Object. Something is always being created somewhere. We want to be part of it.

Dr. Frank Eggers

Born in Hamburg. Studied German language and literature, politics and art history in Kiel. He completed his studies with a doctorate on the writer and journalist Joseph Roth. In 1994, he joined ZDF via an internship at the culture magazine "Aspekte". Frank Eggers joined the ARTE culture magazine "Metropolis". From 1996, he was responsible for the magazine as an editor at ZDF. He then worked for various production companies as an editor and producer, including AVE/Macroscope Film. In 2007, Frank Eggers founded his own company, YSO Film GmbH. Since then, YSO has been producing documentaries and magazine features for public broadcasters.

Frank Eggers is the father of two daughters and lives in Berlin.
